1 My Book Shelf on 12/27/2008, 12:43 pm

Hey guys, I figured that since this place is "what is on your shelf", I would add who my favorite author is. My favorite author is Iris Johansen. I have many of her books that I still plan on reading. I have completed one called "And Then You Die." It is a book about the Gorrillas ran by Colonel Estaban who go into this Mexican town to take over the people, but they poison them with what they call cohlera. They put this chemical into the water supply, but come to find out that is not what killed them all. It was something that dealt with the Mexican pesos. You will have to read this book to find out what actually killed the people. I will tell you that there were only two main survivors out of the three in which the undercover agent saved, but acted as if he wasn't a legal official. It is an awesome book.

Learning to Kill by Ed McBain

A book with several short stories that tells about the many ways you can be killed wether it is homicide or murder, or even a car accident. It gets you up to a climax then crashes with an interesting ending that can sometimes leave you hanging.

Currently reading: Quicksand by Iris Johansen

Henry Kistle is the suspected child killer of Eve Duncan's little girl Bonnie. The case has been under investigation for over a year and Eve is bound determined to find this man and bring him to justice while also keeping her life safe.

Sense a pattern here of what I like to read? Haha. I have a list of books that I can post on here later in case you would like to check them out.

Mystery/Fiction Literature/Murder

*post under construction - will add to later*

I'm falling in love with T.S. Eliot again. He's my favorite poet. Ever. Period. I've been reading his collections obsessively lately. The bleak side of life makes me happy. Disturbingly so.

"In my beginning is my end." What a simple yet powerful reminder of the finality of life. Beautiful.

That's what is on my shelf.

Bump.

Been reading some folklore lately. I love it. Great erotica revolving around a pear tree, and also this:

Three wise men of Gotham
Went to sea in a bowl.
If the bowl had been stronger,
My tale would have been longer.

Folklore Index There's some great stuff here. Stories you wouldn't believe were ever told! There was even one about cannibalism in Ethiopia. It was great. I think it was called "The Land Where No One Died" or something like that. Check it out!!

Ah, humankind is so delightfully morbid.

The Lavendar Lover
I'm now started reading this book series called Jerusaleum's Undead trilogy. It's a Chrsitian Vampire story. So far it's really interesting, and the author did his research very well.
