I don't know how many of you have tried it, but it does NOT take just three licks to get to the center of a Tootsie Pop (TM). Maybe if you have a beak like an owl does, it's possible. But for us beakless humans, not so much. I feel we have been mislead.

Now at the end of the commercial, we hear a man say, "how many licks DOES it take to get to the center of a Tootsie Pop (TM)? (insert sound of a single crunch) The world may never know." And that is so true. So isn't it time for the world TO know?

I suggest we go out there, apprehend a Tootsie Pop (TM), and count.

The owl is a liar! I mean he clearly bites the sucker. And the, on top of that, he lies about biting it! I say the boy was ripped off and he should sue!

He is!!! He totally lied!! And that boy should sue. Not just for himself, but for all the gullible, toothless kids in the world who have fallen victim to this heinous crime. And free Tootsie Pops (TM) should be given as a sign of good faith that the Owl is sorry. Not that anyone of those poor kids could bite it now. But hey, at least they can now see how many legitimate licks it does take to get to the center. Maybe that Owl had the idea all along... NAH, sue 'em.

The more important question: would you really want to get to the Tootsie Roll center of a Tootsie Pop?

All I can think of reading through this Topic is the Old Johnny Brovo Cartoon, Where the Little Boy Asks How many Licks, And he goes to the Turtle, to the Owl, to Who knows what else, And then Walks up to Johnny and Says "Mister Johnny How many licks does i-" And Johnny grabs the Sucker from him and shouts "OH BOY, CANDY!" and swallows it Whole.
