What is it supposed to be??? It doesn't look like, well anything that a Cap'n would have. Someone help me... Please.

I think they're supposed to be representative of gold nuggets. Even though pirates stole gold doubloons. I think Cap'n Crunch was probly supposed to be a '49er, but they decided that instead of making him a crochety old prospector they'd make him a pirate.
Also, he dresses more like an admiral than a Captain.

So, the Crunch Berries... It would be easy to say, that they are just representations of berries... but are they??? Or could there be more to this? Let us ponder...

Indeed, but at this point, we must consider the Peanut Butter Cap'n Crunch.

Also round, like the metaphorical berries... but peanut butter is not itself round, but an odd, pliable, amorphous shape. Your thoughts, please.

Yes, what you say is so true. What are they trying to pull here? We could say that the peanut butter crunches, and the crunch berries are to represent cannon balls. In which case, we know that berries are very tiny, so Cap'n Crunch must himself, be very tiny. Hence, he is not a threat to any armada in the sea, so his efforts are all for not.

But that's just one theory... Your thoughts?

On the contrary, termites and fire ants are tiny, but they can take down houses and people. So maybe Cap'n Crunch is a sea-termite or a sea-fire ant, and he plans on taking out the entire British Navy and Spanish Armada so that he and his pirating can go without a hitch.
And he'll be pirating delicious cereal for the childrens.

Maybe the Reason the Cap'n has Berries in his Cerial is to Hold off the Scurvy for the long sea voyage ahead.

Again, you give us more to think about.

Perhaps there is not as much to this Cap'n and his Berries as we thought. It was merely a matter of survival. Then, perhaps, the peanut butter crunch was just a protein substitute in lieu of fresh meat.

It's so simple!

...Or is it? o.O
