Fruits Basket is something you guys probably wouldn't like, but I know there's at least one more Furuba fan on the forum! (@Nutmeg--holy crap, you were right about Akito! e_e I totally didn't see that coming, except for the fact that you told me like 7 months ago...)

This manga series was adapted into an anime, which I was surprised to find that was pretty close to the first few volumes of manga. It's a cute anime, but the manga is SO much better.

I mention this because I just finished reading it online. (Note to self: MUST OWN THIS SERIES.)

Okay, seriously though, disregard the fact that I called it cute and listen (or read, eheh) to this: This is the story of a family that is cursed and a girl who gets mixed up in their problems. The curse is that random people in the family, every generation, are born as incarnations of the 12 animals of the zodiac (rat, ox, tiger, etc.), and due to weakness, illness, or being hugged by a member of the opposite sex, they transform into that animal. It sounds fluffy (no pun intended), but this family is seriously messed up, and the head of the family, along with the cursed peoples' parents, severely physically and mentally abuse them. Tohru Honda, who goes to school with a few of the kids, happens to find out about the curse, becomes close friends with them, and helps everyone learn to have a more positive outlook for themselves and life in general.

It's a really great story. Can't spoil too much, but check it out if you ever get the chance! I highly recommend it!

My friend Ken owns the anime (which he has let me borrow indefinately) I have watched it a few times through. quite enjoyable and humorous. Like when ayame is talking about how yuki wants to visit his shop and he goes up to Kyo and says " you don't have to come but here you can have one of my cards." granted I enjoy most any anime for example I own the complete chobits anime, as well as Ah! my goddess tv seasons 1 and 2, Neon Genesis Evangelion the perfect collection(Box Set), Excel Saga the perfect collection(Box set), and Negima! (Box Set). Oh and one other Kashi Mashi Girl meets Girl (all in japanese with english subs. found it at bestbuy)

I have Fruits Basket too! I adore that anime!! It's so cute! Now that I've finished the manga, I'm borderline obsessed. I refuse to change out of my Yuki-kun shirt now. Alas, I will wash it today. Shigure-san cracks me up~"High school girls! High school girls!" Really, just a high quality story. If you really enjoy the anime, you should read the manga. The story is essentially the same for the first few volumes (granted, some chapters are swapped around or omitted for continuity's and brevity's sake in the show), but it goes on much further and much deeper. Incredible!

It sounds like we need to do some anime swapping. I have Chobits (another great series!) and Ah! My Goddess (that I still haven't watched, after 2 years...). I love EVA, and I'd love to see Excel Saga. I have Hellsing and all the current Hellsing OVAs, Samurai Champloo (what rocks mah socks), parts of InuYasha, Generator Gawl (which is a highly underappreciated show, btw), most of FullMetal Alchemist, parts of Outlaw Star, D.N.Angel (which is really cute!), Ninja Scroll, Full Metal Panic!, Ranma 1/2 and the OVAs, Berserk, Howl's Moving Castle, a bit of EVA, some Cowboy Bebop, probably some other stuff... And I know that somewhere...somewhere, I have the complete collections of Trigun, Magical Shopping Arcade Abenobashi, Serial Experiments Lain, and Paranoia Agent... if not some more. I've got all kinds of random discs laying around. I don't know what half of them are. ><

sounds like quite the collection. right now i plan to save back for MTAC 2010. mostly for the dealers room. and I took one of those quizzes on myspace for a which fruitsw basket charater are you and i got shigure. which is odd since i am born in the year of the dog.

I have to find that quiz now to see if I get Kisa. I'm year of the tiger.

A word of warning: I have spent hundreds of dollars in one day in that dealer room. Take only as much cash as you can afford to spend and wait til Sunday to buy anything. Under NO circumstances should you ever walk in there with a Visa!!!

Yeah, I heard all about it! I hate it that I missed MTAC this year, but I was vacationing in Texas, and it was the only week we could get off work to go. -_-()

Well, I've Got the First Season of "Ah! My Goddess", I Stole Most all of Jaime's Anime Because she just laid it out without a Shelf, I Have Generater Gawl, Fullmetal Alchemist, (and willing to Rape it for you, Yes I said "R.A.P.E.") D.N.Angel, All Of Ranma 1/2, (Jaime bought it from a guy over when we still had Suncost) Inuyasha, Basically Some of the Same you do, And then it gets into my Section of the Animes I Cellect, Which Are, Love Hina, Sailor Moon, (ALL THE SEASONS, AND MOVIES, I AM AWESOME!) Gad Guard, (Giant Robots I can Acutally STAND!) That thing about Akito blew me away when I finally saw it. Shigure had me freaked out, and then when everything was 'revealed' (kehkehkeh!), I was sighing in relief. The jokes about boy love between Shigure and Ayame were more than enough yaoi for me!! lol
